Sherry Rehman demands an investigation on the arrest of PPP workers in GB

Sherry Rehman demands an investigation on the arrest of PPP workers in GB
November 24, 2020

Islamabad, November 24, 2020: Condemning the arrest of PPP workers in Gilgit Baltistan, Parliamentary Leader of the PPP in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman said, “PTI led government is creating chaos in GB to distract everyone from their rigging. Our workers are protesting peacefully and it is PTI workers who are creating a ruckus”.

She questioned, “Why were our workers tortured and abused when they were only exercising their right? There must be an investigation into this matter and Federal ministers should be included in it”.

“PTI has stolen our election and peoples’ votes. Peaceful protests over rigging is our constitutional right and no one can stop us from that. Sealing PPP’s election office is unacceptable and unconstitutional,” she added.

She said, “The government should focus on arresting real culprits instead of our workers. Tabahi Sarkar cannot fool people with their diversionary tactics as Fafen observers have exposed the truth”.

Parliamentary Leader of the PPP in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman concluded by saying, “Maintaining GB’s peace is of utmost importance to us and we will do everything to protect it. Riots in GB are a matter of serious concern and we will not let the government get away with this”.
