The Ambassador attended the First General Body meeting of the Friends of Pakistan Club, a society formed in the 1950s through the collaboration of the Pakistani American diaspora and the Embassy. She addressed the members on the transformations taking place in Pakistan and urged the Club to play an active role in promoting Pakistani culture in the U.S. While lauding the role of the Club in philanthropic contributions to charities both in Pakistan and the U.S., Ambassador Rehman underscored the need to highlight the profile of Pakistani American community in the American political scene, especially by engaging the youth. She also briefed the members about the Embassy’s outreach efforts and assured them of her full support for the Club’s social activities.
