Paying tribute to the late Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Senator Sherry Rehman, Vice President PPP, said, ‘Today, the Pakistan Peoples Party lost a most reliable confidant, the most distinguished of politicians, and the best of human beings.’
The PPP Parliamentarians president passed away yesterday after a long illness. Senator Rehman expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of her trustworthy colleague and offered her condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and the party workers.
Reminiscing, Rehman said that his father Makhdoom Talib-ul-Moula was one of the founding members of Pakistan People’s Party, and, during the exile of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto he led party affairs with great commitment.
‘Makhdoom Amin Fahim remained one the most loyal and dedicated party workers and the epitome of a true leader since the beginning of his political career in the 1970s to his last breath,’ she added.
‘Amin Fahim was a man of great virtue. He outright rejected General Pervez Musharraf offer to him to become Prime Minister in 2002. Makhdoom sahab, through his struggles and sacrifices, proved time and again that despite hardships, he would never compromise on or negotiate against the ideology of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed,’ said the Senator.
‘The Pakistan Peoples Party will always remember his sacrifices and he will forever be the epitome of loyalty within the political realm of the PPP and that of Pakistan itself,’ she concluded.
